

Tozer’s eloquence and insight is rarely found these days, and Grover made it seem like a walk in the park, making the book easy to understand. Grover Gardner may be applauded (once again) for his work, and even more so as he spoke Tozer’s words so well. With words like these, Tozer shakes the soul.

This book does as the Bible does: explaining the Holy Spirit as a Person in the Trinity, and One we can always turn to, as He lives in us after salvation, ready to fill us at any moment, so long as we have our priorities right. Salvation is from our side a choice, from the divine side a conquest of the Most High God. When thinking of the Godhead, we tend to think of only the Father and Son. A staple of this book is the Holy Spirit, very often misunderstood and more often forgotten or dismissed by sinful man. And I’ll surely read both again, this one first, next time.) Tozer speaks often of religion and how we’ve created terrible definitions for only holy things, essentially giving religion a new meaning that pleases us, not God.
